(Oct 21) Takeno Sea Market

The final Takeno Sea Market of this year will be held on Saturday, October 21st 2017 from 11 am to 1 pm.

Takeno began holding a monthly sea market earlier this year. Similar to a farmer’s market, visitors can purchase freshly caught fish, and order local food from the concession, including popular items such as the squid cutlet burger, oden, sushi rolls, draft beer, sake, soft drinks, and more.
For 500 JPY, you can try your hand at fishing for Japanese horse mackerel. For 800 JPY, take a 20-minute boat ride out along the Nekozaki Peninsula and view the lighthouse and Takeno beach from the sea. A 30-minute special kayaking course for 3,000 JPY is also available but requires reservations.

This is the last Takeno Sea Market of the year, so come on down if you get the chance and experience Takeno like a local.
To access the Takeno Sea Market, take a train to JR Takeno station (Just one stop from JR Kinosaki Onsen station!), and then walk 15-20 minutes towards the beach. The market is located close to the beach along Takeno river. For an exact location, use the google maps link below.
